One of Pinxten's older levels, Operation Kolpowitz remains extemely playable and sports the same, realistically detailed design we've come to expect from his later maps. The story's pretty simple - infiltrate a nuclear arms facility set in the mountains, make a lot of aliens dead, launch a nuclear warhead and be home in time for Emmerdale Farm. You can really see Half-Life's influence in this level which is not at all a bad thing, although it does follow that some areas are quite bare and under-detailed. Puzzles are of your basic 'find key - find slot - progress' style, but the mundaneness of this is countered rather well by all the killing and blowing things up which happens in the intervening time. It's a good'un, be sure to check it out.

Intelligence telexed that they had noticed some strange activity around the site, and a marines team sent there to check things out, never came back. On this tape is the last thing we heard from them. Listen! Tape: Monday, 0300 PM. All seems quiet...krrr...whats that?...krrr ...fuck me! All the employees are dead!...krrr...sir? I hear something....Shit!...It's comin' from the left....watch out!...krrr ...AAAAAAH...Wyman? WYMAN!...NOOOOO....krrr...krrrrr... D: Damned! C: You know what to do, Duke. A helicopter is waiting for you at platform 5. We'll drop you at the site. D: Ok, ready for action! C: Oh wait a sec Duke. If you can, launch the warhead and destroy those bastards once and for all.
