A massive city level, quite good for its type with really good design, shading and whatnot. There's plenty of detail and monsters to keep you interested while you're off searching for those key cards, although roaming the streets trying to find the next bit can be tedious. Puzzles are sometimes quite difficult so read the text file for a few pointers. Still a great map!

THE STORY: having successfully escaped san-angelos, found the transporter to the alien home world ( levels one thru three ), and liberated the clandestine transporter research facility ( level four ), the time has come to deal with the real evil.... the alien sympathizers. and where else, but in new york city. YOUR MISSION: intelligence reports that a high-level official has files hidden somewhere in midtown which contain the names of all who have conspired with the alien scum. of course, said alien scum has recently overrun the city. after making a HALO drop to the top of a building, you are to dispose of this vile infestation, follow the paper trail, and root out whoever sold us out. we need those files! so go ahead, bite the big apple. ( if you're that lazy, why bother? ) comments: this level was finished on an nv/hl 3000 ( my own brand ) pII 350, with 64mb system memory, 512kb cache, and a 32mb ati rage fury 3d card, using the atomic edition v1.5. frame rates average out at about 25 to 30, dipping down to 20 in some spots. this is at 800x600 svga. 320x240 runs roughly 60 to 70 or better. on my machine. individual results may vary, most especially on a 486. if you have less than a p200 with 32mb, you will be wasting your time. i would have liked to have included something from conspiracy theory, blade, and the matrix, but ran out of space. as it is, there are better than 10 film, tv, and book references, mostly in a world-within-the-world/ conspiracy/totalitarian vein. i hope i have done the subject justice. HINTS: if you've read this far, you deserve something -- don't waste your explosives. use tactics. there are plenty of corners and such to use for cover. some buttons are hard to find, so examine everything. best bet is to clear the streets, and then attack the skyscrapers. a trip to the gunstore first might help. watch your back. and yes, you can make that jump.
