A blast from the past, or at least it is for anyone who remembers it - Blastm takes you to some underground cavernous alien encampment with plenty of the aforementioned blighters and a few nasty surprises to keep you on your toes. While design does suffer a bit sometimes, gameplay is quite reasonable and there's always plenty of action - just remember to conserve your ammo.

Sipos E-mail : jsipos[at]julian.uwo.ca Web Page : not yet Misc. Author Info : duke cartographer Other Levels : cas0.map (some sites have it as caso.map) blastm.map under6.map skulphuk.map propain.map sunodog.map Description : Those damn aliens have taken over Duke's hometown and have just about every location under control. The aliens have another queen and they're keeping her safe in an underground nuclear test site. They have built underground passageways and transportation routes. Your mission is to eradicate the town of aliens. You'll have to find your way to the underground test site but be sure that there are booby traps. The aliens have decided not to make it too easy to find their queen again; they are well aware of duke's capabilities. Look for secret places (there are 9 secrets) to gather extra ammo and health. Good luck, Duke... Additional Credits To : Thanks to my brother, Joe, who took the time to play test this map every time I added things to it and for rendering honest criticism. His help in deciding what to leave in the map and what to take out was a big part in making this map what it is. Thanks to Jeff Watters for playtesting this map a million times and without his input the player would have been stuck in a few places with no way out. Jeff seems to have a nack for finding all the bugs (hehe). Jeff's quite certain that there aren't any bugs left to find. I know I haven't found any since Jeff seems to have found them all. (There were only a few). Thanks to Mike Lobb for playtesting this map a thousand times and for putting up with me sending him massive emails with new maps to test. ====================================================================== * Play Information * Single Player : Yes!!! Level Editor(s) Used : BUILD (3DGame-Menu By David Maisonave) David Masianave's gamemenu for DOS was indispensable. Art Editor(s) Used : none Construction Time : Time it took...a long time. This is yet another map that I have been working on (more off than on) for about eight months. I have no idea, in hours, how long this map actually took to build. It was one of the first maps I started building way back. It has gone under the the builder's knife and gone through at least 170 renditions. It's been played thousands of times by my friends and me. we've had it on our personal sites for months. Hence it has been changed many times to make it more playable and texture alignment/shade/light effects cured. Known Bugs : I appologise for making this map so detailed. It's real nice and all but as a consequence, on slower computers, (I run a 233Mhz MMX), it may play kinda sluggish in one of the areas. I've seen this map played on a pentium 100MHz and it made it through but the faster the better. * Where to get this MAP file * File location : http://www.dukeworld.com/ ===================================================================== *Important Information* Installation : Just unzip this map into your Duke3d directory.
