A huge but undeniably fun map from the mists of time, BetaOne combines that old classic 'search for the nuke button' style with nice gameplay, heart-pumping action and more than reasonable design for its date of release. Sure, texturing is plain awful in parts and it's rather easy to get lost, but it's a must-have for any avid Duker.

================================================== Welcome to Moonbase Beta! ================================================== A Duke Nukem 3D user created level. FILENAME : betaone.map AUTHOR : Robert Travis E-MAIL : rtravis1[at]earthlink.net DESCRIPTION : This level is "Moonbase Beta", a VERY large base on the moon. Featuring subways, underwater areas, and LOTS of secrets. This is my first level I have designed and is far larger than any level should be! However, it can still be fun, especially for Dukematch's with more than two players! It can also be creepy for two players, and is an excellent trap setting environment! Though designed for Dukematch, it supports single play. I learned Build by making this level, any future levels I design should be more polished. Comments by E-Mail are very welcome, just don't tell me it's too big, I KNOW it's too big! A good Pentium processor is reccomended! Enjoy! ================================================== SINGLE PLAYER? : Yes DUKEMATCH? : Yes CO-OP PLAY? : Yes DIFFICULTY SETTINGS? : Not Implemented BASE: : New level from scratch EDITOR USED : The one that came with the game KNOWN BUGS : - There is a problem with the middle sector of the swimming pool, I can find no cause for it. No major problem. - In the Living Ocean, the sharks can sometimes bite you through the barrier. Don't stand too close! - The wall outside of Subway Station 1, can sometimes wink out. Don't panic! No major problem. - It is sometimes possible, in certain area's, to get stuck inside a window, if this happens in Dukematch, just have someone kill you. Rarely occurs. FOR NEW USERS : To play this level, copy the file betaone.map into your Duke Nukem 3D directory. At the command prompt, type setup, from the menu select "Select User Level". Find "betaone" in the list and hit enter to choose it. At the bottom of the menu, then select "Save and launch Duke Nukem". ================================================== "What are you waiting for, Christmas?" ==================================================
