A nicely done city-themed map with your basic, essential amenities (strip club, hotel, post office and a bank) - AlexCity has absorbing gameplay and the puzzles are logical and sequential. Level design is top-notch, although there's a few cramped spaces which leave little room to move around in. Shading is brilliant, that and the sound effects make for some nice ambience - certainly one for the archive!

Author Info : I'm from Poland... And I'm 14 years old... Some of you know me from AMC, eh? Other levels : It's my first serious published project that I'm making alone, but I made a part in CBP 3 and 4. Description : It's city at night themed level. I used here and there some cool levels, like readable book, reflecting viewscreens, exploding car, the door that you have to blow by TNT stuff activated by lont and some other and also some cool shadings... Also, the level is quite atmospheric, as my betatesters said. So, just go and play it to experience it by yourself! Story : Aliens have attacked small city near Los Angeles. But EDF knew about it very early, because they had there their agent - William Coleman. So, they evacuated people. But when Aliens were in empty city, they demolished and destroyed buildings and their interiors. But city wasn't empty at all... There was a one human... Guess who... No! Not Duke Nukem :P William Coleman! And he started preparations to attack to Alien's main base, which they made in a only one building that they haven't destroyed or demolished - the bank. He finished it, but he needed a support - he can't fight as good as EDF soldiers. So, EDF send there their best agent - Duke Nukem! And he is really angry, so he's gonna kick some stinky fat alien asses! Additional Credits to : My betatesters: Stephano Lessa, William Gee, Aaro Ruohonen and my sister Danio who found some bugs in it too :) ===================================================================================== ======= * Play Information * Episode and Level # : 'User Map' should describe it good ;) Single Player : Yes. Primaly designed. DukeMatch Level : Nope. I don't think it's a good idea... Cooperative : Yes... Just change the part of story from "their best agent" to "group of their best agents" ;) Difficulty Settings : Yes. 'Piece of Cake', 'Let's Rock!' and 'Come Get Some' - I've already made there some spawning enemies on the street after entering each location, so you don't have to play on 'Damn I'm Good' to experience it, altought you of course can if you wish... ;) New Music: : Yes. Offspring's 'Gotta Get Away' which hopefully fits the map... NOTE : There is a book lying on the floor in Coleman's room. You can read it by crouching and pressing space near it. It's probably first (or one of the firsts) readable book in Duke. Maybe it's not that important, but it makes a good mission feeling, so I really advice you to use it ;) Also, when the message on viewscreen says that you have to place the lighter near the box to light the lont, it means that you have to duck near that box which is on the street opposite to the doors of bank and press space when you have red card. Also, you can blow up the brown car which is parked on the street by using some explosives near the crack in its front... It's just some info for you to make you enjoy the map more :D * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) Used : Build... And as you can see here - Notepad :) Known Bugs : Find them by yourself or better don't try to do so ;) Construction Time : OMG... I started building on this map on 19th the March 2003 while today is 6th the December 2003 (threat this map as a gift from Santa Claus)... So it's about 8 months...
