IMPORTANT: This map requires DukePlus

Proof that old Duke mappers don't die, or even fade away. They just go on hiatus until they re-discover that build bug. A short, action packed industrial map where Duke must reach his ride by infiltrating a base and then the landing dock portion of a sky vessel. Well laid out and designed; finding your way around is easy, but getting through the curtains of alien defenders provides a good challenge. The author is a master of "less is better", and proves that you don't need overdone eye candy to create an immersible atmosphere. The use of Dukeplus is also on the conservative side and it's minimal usage fits right into the flow of this fast paced map. Expect lots of battles with plenty ammunition and health to help you on your way; and when the smoke clears and you're standing in piles of alien guts, you'll be left wanting more.

Description : *** IMPORTANT: This map requires DukePlus v2.07!***

*** IMPORTANT: Read the notes below for essential
                            gameplay information! ***

The tide of war has turned against us. We are on the
defensive. The alien aggressors have conquered or
infiltrated many of our facilities. Yesterday, an
island near Tunesia fell to the enemy. This island
houses a large teleportation device, which is vital
for the coordination of our European and African
                        troops.
But that's not all. An alien strike force have hijacked
one of our troop carriers, the Athena. They have rigged
the board computer for an automated course to one of
our skyhook stations which is in geosynchronous orbit
above the Sahara. We don't know if the enemy plans a
suicide run or a genuine attack, but whatever they have
in store, it can't be good.

                        Your mission will be twofold:

                          1. Infiltrate the teleportation base and secure the
                             control room.
                          2. Activate the teleporter. We managed to sneak a
virus into the maniframe which will automatically
set the coordinates for the teleporter once the
scanners of the base pick you up, so all you have
to do is to push the button.
                          3. Board the skiff on the teleportation field to
reach the Athena. Normally we would send a full
infiltration team, but all our troops are engaged
elsewhere and without range, so teleporting you
directly to the carrier is the only way to stop
the vessel before it reaches its destination.
                          4. Destroy the carrier by setting an explosive
charge in the reactor room. There should be a
Skycar in the cargo bay, so use this as a means of
                             escape.
We don't know what the aliens are up to are what
they already did the ship, so we can't risk to
take in the ship in one of our installations. It
wouldn't be the first time that they try something
funny, so sacrificing the Athena is a necessary
                             evil.

                         Godspeed, soldier!

This map is dedicated to the PS3 game Killzone 2, which
gave me the original inspiration to build a hovering
skiff in Build...which eventually grew into this
                        usermap.
